Top Tier Tutors strives to achieve excellence through hard work and reliability. We provide personalised service to both tutors and families.

We constantly seek enthusiastic and reliable tutors to join our multi-skilled tutoring team. Specifically, individuals who have excelled academically, have a passion for educating and inspiring others and are currently studying or have completed their tertiary studies at an accredited tertiary institution.

 

We purposefully keep our team relatively small to ensure each tutor is provided the opportunity to connect with one or more learners consistently. In saying that, it’s encouraged that all tutors teach two or more subjects to matric or specialise in foundation and intermediate phase but facilitate all subjects within their phases.

Please see the criteria needed to move forward with your application:

  • 75% for your grade 12 subject/s allows you to teach that subject up to grade 9
  • 80% for your grade 12 subject/s allows you to teach that subject up to grade 12
  • If you don’t meet the above criteria but achieved 75% for the said subject at university, we will consider your application to teach the subject at school level
  • Stable and reliable internet connection – a minimum of 30 Mbps upload and download speed, a reliable laptop or computer and a good quality headset, the criteria of which is discussed later.
  • You must be able to teach at least one subject to matric as well as one other to grade 9

You can use the following prompts to guide you when recording your video. This is just a guide, however, so feel free to use your 1-minute as you wish. Please note that all videos viewed will be cut at 1-minute so be sure not to record for longer than that.

  1. Introduction: Start by introducing yourself. State your name and perhaps where you’re from or currently stay.
  2. Educational Background: Share a brief overview of your educational background. Mention your highest level of education, any relevant degrees or certifications, and the subjects you excel in.
  3. Teaching Experience: If applicable, discuss any prior teaching or tutoring experience you have. Highlight the subjects or areas you’ve taught and the age groups you’ve worked with.
  4. Passion for Tutoring: Explain why you are passionate about tutoring. What motivates you to help others learn and succeed academically?
  5. Other Interests and Hobbies: If you feel it’s relevant and helps build a more complete picture of yourself, you can briefly mention any hobbies or interests outside of tutoring.
  6. Closing Statement: Conclude your video by summarising your key strengths and what you can bring to the team.
